An Update...

It has almost been a week since I blogged! That is not like me. I haven't read all of my other favorite blogs either. I have been a slacker! Angel sent me an email asking me if I was ok... so I realized I need to get out of my slump and get back to my "normal" routine of night blogging:) I made myself a cup of hot chai tea and I am ready to roll! Here is what I have been up to:

If you recall, our basement flooded last month. You can see some before pictures here. Well, things are finally coming along with our basement! It is almost complete. We just need to have the bathroom floor re tiled and that should be done very soon. The contractors did fabulous work. The paint job is better than it was when we originally hired some people to do the painting when we first moved in! A lot of things are better, so I guess it was a blessing in disguise:)

They toys have been moved back into the play room and have already been played with:) I have some big plans for this room. I am going to redecorate with some photo posters of the kids and I bought some chalkboard paint to play with! Yippee! Oh - the carpet I picked out is a brighter blue.. matches more with my "primary" colors theme.

I love the new carpet in the workout room. It had ugly gray berber before and now it has plush black!

We are getting ready for the beach:) We leave May 3rd. I can't wait!! Had to get the twins some sandals. Faith liked these Dora sandals. Aren't they super cute? When she saw them she said "DORA"! and then "flowers" so to me, she wanted them. Faith now has 5 pairs of shoes to Brandon's 2. Isn't that how it is supposed to be?

Brandon's new "Nerf" sandals

Daddy bought the twins bean bags yesterday! Zach likes them too. Brandon and Faith like to stand right in front of the tv... so we want to teach them to sit in their bean bags when they are watching a show.

Daddy's shoes!

She is up to something!

Brandon plays with his trains EVERY day. Now that the play room is ready, we are going to move the train table downstairs. I will have to make sure to keep some train cars upstairs for Brandon. He will make them go any where! They travel on the window sill, couch, kitchen table, US, chairs, fireplace... it's the Brandon Express! I found out that the real THOMAS tank engine is at the B & O Railroad Museum this week! I think tickets are sold out. We are to busy any way. However, the museum without Thomas is still cool enough. I am going to plan a day trip soon. Some where between all of our other trips and birthdays. LOL!
I have been having a pretty good week. A long lost childhood friend found me on facebook! A big shout out to MELANIE! We were best buds when we were 8, 9 and 10? We were living in Illinois on Chanute AFB. We played outside all the time. Rode our bikes, played on the playground, went to the pool... then Melanie moved to a farm. Even better! My parents still let me go to the farm to spend time with my best friend. We had many sleepovers and played in the barn. I remember having walnut fights and eating homemade ice cream made from goat's milk. It was also the first (and last) time I ate FRESH eggs from a chicken! This was also a special time in my life as Melanie's family brought me to Church and I was baptized at age 9. I remember the Church very well. It has been so nice to talk to an old friend and share our life experiences with each other.
I have also been very excited about our upcoming vacation! I think I may start packing this weekend. LOL Zach's birthday is next weekend, Saturday May 2nd. I can't wait to give him his present! What a great weekend he will have. He can play with his present all day on Sat and then Sun we leave to go to the beach. YAHOOOO!
This weekend we have to buckle down and complete Zach's science project. Well, Zach has to complete it with some assistance. Hope all is well with all my bloggy buddies!
