Here is the corner - up the road to the left is the parking garage. Which, even as an employee, you have to pay a bundle to park in there!
The front of the building - and my hubby going in to to get his things. Now here is a strange side note: On the way to D.C. I realized I did not have my sunglasses! I said "how am I going to spend the day at the zoo without sunglasses??" I planned on looking for a street vendor to buy a cheap pair. Well, Scott came out of the office with a stack of goodies that were left for me in his desk drawer:) In that stack of goodies was a beautiful pair of new sunglasses! WOW! What are the odds? Thank you, sweet, wonderful sunglass provider!
Ahh, we have arrived at the zoo at last! I am sporting my new sunglasses.
The Ape House - Zach's FAVORITE place in the zoo. Zach, Brandon and Faith all really enjoyed the apes. We took a pic of the boys looking at the apes - but there is A LOT of ape poo in the picture, so I thought I would spare you:)
I didn't take a lot of pictures of the kids. Just a lot of pictures of animals. I have been visiting this very same zoo since I was 2 years old or so. It was funny to me to look at the pictures I took and see that they look just like the pictures I have from 1974! LOL Zoo pictures never change.
I really really wanted to take the kids to the petting zoo, and THOSE are the pictures I really wanted. By the time we got there, they had closed! I was super disappointed.
When we left to go home, I had left my camera in the stroller which was in the back of the truck. Ok, not a big deal I thought, we were just driving home. Well let me tell you the sights we drove by on the way home - through D.C.. We drove by some SUPER HUGE wooden chair that had a bunch of kids sitting on top of it. It was cool. Then we drove by a building that had a HUGE pink ribbon on it for Breast Cancer Awareness. That would have been a good picture to post! Finally, we were sitting at a traffic light - I look to my left and what do I see? The EXORCIST STAIRS!!!!! I could NOT believe it! I have always wanted to see them and take a picture of course - and there I was really close! I had to go home and google it to make sure I was correct - and Oh yeah, I was! There you go - that was a lesson learned. ALWAYS HAVE MY CAMERA!

very clever.
EXORCIST STAIRS?? I had to Google that too cause I didn't know what the heck you were talking about...now I'm picking up what you're putting down. I wonder if we drove right by them too when we were in DC....we drove all over that flippin place! Glad you guys had a great time at the zoo. Hopefully next time the petting area will be open. The boys LOVE that!
Oh My!!! That's the worst movie I have ever seen in my whole life! I'm glad it was you and not me. I like that pic of Zach and the ape. He looks kewl with him. Gosh Peg, those kids are growing so fast! Even Zach! We'll see you sometime within the next 2 weeks. AppleButter here this weekend and we have to work at our church serving food. Love U!!
Looks like a fun day. Sorry you missed some good shots. I always see things that would make a good pic when I don't have my camera too.
Looks like you guys had fun! My kids love the zoo. In fact we went the day before school started as a last hoorah and we are going again in a few weeks for a halloween festival. Can't wait!
