"Apple"

We have been concerned about Brandon and his little interest in talking. He babbles, but only has 5 actual words to Faith's 10. He had a bad day today. I think he was feeling yucky from shots yesterday and he is cutting several teeth right now. In addition, he had a little fall in his play room. I had hid their chairs so they could not climb on their table, but he used a riding toy as a stool and climbed up on their table. He fell - and has a big ol bump on his head. He was grumpy ALL evening! Scott sat him up on the counter and I gave him an apple. Double happiness! Sitting on the counter is so cool and he loves apples! All of a sudden he said "apple". We were so excited! "Yes, that's right, that's an apple! YAAAY!" Brandon had a big smile and said "apple" over and over again making us clap and cheer each time. Even Faith was clapping and cheering for her brother. Yay Brandon!

Yea Brandon! Isn't it funny how sometimes something so simple as an apple can completely change their mood around?

YAY Brandon! It's so hard not to compare babies, especially twins! But as the first comment said-- girls are usually more verbal first. And the range of "normal" at 18 months is using anywhere from 3 to 20 words. That's a big range! But we'd hope to see that double and maybe even triple by age 2 (using around 50 words). I bet you'll be surprised at how quickly he catches up. ;)

P.S. Love reading your blog, not only for the posts, but the music is so relaxing, too!
