Chugga Chugga CHOO CHOO

Scott has been taking the train to D.C. to work every day. The station is a couple of miles away from our house, so it's really convenient! So - yes, we can hear trains from our new house. But I have to say, it is MUCH better than hearing constant planes like at our old house. We lived in the landing path to Dulles Airport and sometimes it sounded as if those planes were going to crash into our home! The sound of an occassional train is kind of comforting to me. Plus, they do not use horns over night.
Today I decided to take the kids and go to the train station a bit earlier so we could walk around and check out the shops and restaurants. The station is located in Old Town Manassas.
I forgot my camera:( So you will have to deal with my internet pictures for now. I must say, it was nice walking around and checking out all the local restaurants with their menus posted outside to see, and all the little shops! I did not think any shop was stroller friendly so I did not go in. There is a huge pavilion with smooth concrete close by the station, so after we walked around the block, I sat on a bench with the stroller near me and we watched Zach "skate" around with his Healys. (shoes with wheels)
When the train came, we walked up as close as we could and Brandon and Faith just stared. Every time the train horn blew, Brandon tried to "copy" the sound. It was soooo funny.
Once Daddy was off the train, we went for another walk so he could see whats around also!

Again, I am loving this area. I really feel at home here! I will bring my camera next time for some fun pics:)

I'm so glad you're in love with your new home and town. I fell in love with York PA when we visited. We didn't see much of VA or DC but that part of the country sure is pretty and much different than the West.

It's wonderful to hear you're loving your new home. I completely understand being in the flight path of an airport. From your photos it looks like a very nice area.
